you advice and guidance, as well as a written estimate of moving costs
and ways in which you can minimize those costs. This consultation is

Preparing
for your move
Prior to moving day, you will be involved in the preliminary sorting
of your belongings, separating the items you wish to send overseas from
the items you would like to leave behind.
It is recommended
to pack your suitcases prior to moving day and make sure your passports
and tickets are put in a safe place, separated from the items you want
us to pack and/or pick up.
On Moving
Day
Our professional packing crew will arrive at your home with specially
designed cartons, padding materials and, if necessary, custom-built
wooden crates to safely pack your furniture and household goods.
Secondary
Packing
Aerostar will provide heavy-duty wooden crates
(“lift-vans”) which are custom built to match the size specifications
of your shipment. These super-strong crates are built to withstand any
damage that might occur with the handling of your shipment while en
route to its destination.
Arrival
at destination
Following the departure from your local port of exit, our services continue
in the country of destination. With over 120 agents and affiliates worldwide,
we are able to coordinate the move and pave the way for smooth and expeditious
clearance from customs. Once the shipment is cleared, our agent will
make arrangements for the delivery of your goods to your new home or
office.
Clearing your shipment
will require some or all of the following documents, dependent upon
your country of destination:
• Clear copy of your passport
• Immigrant certificate or Visa
• Detailed packing list with value of the contents
• Receipts for any new appliances and furniture
• Proof of residence
• Proper proof of tax exemption, if entitled
Storage
Aerostar provides storage of your goods in
a secured, ventilated warehouse while you are in transit to your new
country of destination, traveling, remodeling your home, or have not
yet found a new residence. Your goods will be stored in heavy duty crates
“lift vans” until they are ready to be shipped or delivered.

Aerostar provides complete packing solutions
for your valuable antiques, paintings, art, Hi-Tech and optics.
Our packing experts
will design specially made crates, suited to meet your requirements
and made with the most advanced packing materials available today.
A highly skilled
packing crew will arrive at our facilities in order to pack, strap and
fasten your equipment for transfer by land, sea and air.
All stages of planning,
design and manufacture are in accordance with the requirements of the
insurance agencies, including the presence of a surveyor when required.
Insurance
There are times when for reasons beyond our control when goods may be
damaged during transit. For this reason we recommend you insure your
goods with an “All Risk, Door to Door Marine Insurance”
policy, which takes effect at the time your goods are picked up.
While the cost of
insurance is not included in our estimate, our representative will be
glad to advise you on this matter. Remember, always insure your goods
for the amount of money it will cost to replace them in the country
you are moving to. Costs overseas for certain items are often much higher
than in the country of origin.
Car Shipping
The two most common ways to ship a vehicle are RO/RO (roll on, roll
off) or in a steamship container. Upon receipt of your vehicle, Aerostar
will handle the loading, bracing, lashing and securing it inside the
container, the delivery to the port and the ocean freight to the port
of destination. The vehicle must arrive at our facilities with a maximum
of 1 gallon of fuel in the tank and in running condition.
You will be required
to supply the original clean title (no liens), a copy of the registration
and a copy of your passport.
While the steamship
lines maintain basic liability coverage, an additional policy is available
through our offices and is recommended.
Motorcycle
Shipping
Motorcycles are either crated or loaded onto specially-made racks. Aerostar
will provide a heavy-duty, custom built, wooden crate to specification.
Your motorcycle will be secured inside the crate and loaded into a steamship
consolidated container.
The motorcycle must
arrive at our facilities drained entirely of fuel.
You will be required
to supply the original clean title (no liens), a copy of the registration
and a copy of your passport.
While the steamship
lines maintain basic liability coverage, an additional policy is available
through our offices and is recommended. |
